Ah, version number madness. They're diverging code trains. Squid-2.7
is the continuation of the Squid-2 codebase. Squid-3.0 branched from

I'm going to keep developing the Squid-2 series into what I think
it should become as there's plenty of Squid-2 users out there
that have high performance needs.

I tried the FAQ and Squid website for some more info but I found none.
The RoadMap2 and RoadMap3 are a bit vague to draw any conclusions.

Can you be more elaborate ?  What are the major differences between
3.x and 2.7 ?
