Re: Content-encoding header lost when getting a "304 Not Modified" reply

Changing To: so that all interested can see this.

I know that they have MS ISA doing reverse proxy in front of the SAP Portal. But sadly no access there either..
And even though we are working on a parallell test-environment, we can't just restart it either..

They are just about to disable compression on the SAP end, and I've talked to MS support to get the KB321722 fix which has to do with compressed data and Expires headers.

Just hoping to get this problem sorted out so i can take vacation tomorrow :)

/Johan

Johan,

my reply was meant to go to the list but seems I didn't change to 'To:'
address like normal!

Do you have access to one of the proxies? If so you could make a packet
capture there.

We use SAP Portal, with an Apache reverse proxy in front. We disable
compression because we perform HTML rewriting on the Apache machine. I
think I have our external portal set to recompress after the rewriting
but I'm not 100% sure!

                Neil.
