Quick check of your hostname setup: uname -n should preferably return an FQDN (fully qualified host name with domain). But short names also work provided there is a mapping to the FQDN in /etc/hosts or very reliable DNS. If this hostname is in /etc/hosts then the entry there must have the FQDN name first, before any short names. If all fails you can set the visible_hostname in squid.conf to make Squid shut up.
