It's not what it says. It says in all versions of Squid-2.6 and later
specifying one of defaultsite or vhost is sufficient.

Squid-2.5 is very different.

The first talks about 2.6.STABLE8 and later (i.e. not 2.6.STABLE1 to
2.6.STABLE7), the second about Squid-2.6 and later in general..
