I'm having trouble to connect to local servers, when i uses only the
servername and not the FQDN.
The machine can ping the servername!
I have following lines in my /etc/resolf.conf
search xxx.xx
domain xxx.xx
If i recall its the search that uses the domainname, but no luck.
For now i have put the servernames in the browsers exceptionlist but i
can't do this for all machines, and the users won't uses the FQDN in the
url bar.
Is there a solution for me ?
Yes. You seem to be missing a nameserver.
Even if one is expected to be assigned by DHCP its good to have an
explicit backup.
