Hi Naser,

I think that the problem could be due to permissions. Under which user and group are you trying to start Squid? 

Also check your relevant configuration for access.log, cache.log and store.log.

If possible, try to send us your squid.conf file for further investigation.

Your version of Squid 2.5.STABLE6 seems to be quite old but that does not mean that your old version is actually causing the problem.

I really suggest you to download and compile the latest source file from:
 
http://www.squid-cache.org/Versions/v2/2.6/
