Hi,

Based on a connection as follows:

Client PC --> Squid Proxy Server --> Web server

Is my understanding of the following timeout in layman's term correct??? If not, what should they be???

connect_timeout 120 seconds - This is a timeout between Squid Proxy Server --> Web Server and if after 120 seconds, Squid Proxy Server does not get a reply from Web Server, it will response to the Client PC of connection timed out error to the Web Server.

read_timeout 120 seconds - This is a timeout between Client PC --> Squid Proxy Server and if after 120 seconds, the client PC is idle (ie. IE did not send any request), Squid Proxy Server will drop the connection between the Client PC and Squid Proxy Server.

request_timeout 30 seconds - This is a timeout between Squid Proxy Server --> Web Server. Squid Proxy Server able to communicate with the Web Server upon receiving a request from the Client PC. However the Web Server is not able to complete the request after 30 seconds, Squid Proxy Server will response to the Client PC of connection timed out error to the Web Server.

pconn_timeout 120 seconds - This is a timeout between Squid Proxy Server --> Web Server and if after 120 seconds, Squid Proxy Server will drop the connection between the Squid Proxy Server and Web Server.

Thank you.
