Hi,
Squid works fine on all Windows version starting from 2000 to the
latest Vista.
Do you have any personal firewall running on your XP machine
I had it on, but have disabled it completely now. It still looks like
squid is not proxying pages.
I have squid setup to accept connections on 127.0.0.1:3128
The interesting thing is that even with the squid service stopped the
browser will still resolve and load pages with proxy setting
enabled.... wierd.
I run squid on a larger campus network on FC6. Based on my
configuration there, I see no reason why this should not be working. I
tried to watch packets with wireshark, but I cannot look at traffic on
the loopback on this XP box with it for some reason.
Maybe the same reason because squid is not working ?
Also check your antivirus software.
Do you can see the 3128 port in use with netstat -a command ?

Guido
Thanks,
Chris
