I have a number of squid boxes using this setup at a number of sites - I

It does not sound like an issue with Squid. I run 2.6STABLE9 on FC6
with ntlm and no problem. It sounds more like a problem between Samba
and the DC.

I've got another organisation running Squid-2.5 who sees this during
busy-ish periods. They check the output of 'wbinfo -t' every minute and
it keeps returning happiness right up and past when Squid crashes due
to the authentication queue growing.

From what I was told when I first posted about this, 2.5 is no longer maintained. There was a bug posted for similar behaviour, which was fixed for 2.6:

I'd love to know if you see the same problem when if you were to upgrade that box to 2.6 (assuming it is feasible). It would reassure me I am not going insane! :)

Cheers,

Matt
