I apologize in advance if I haven't dug deep enough to find the answer
to this already, or if this should be posted to the dev list for feature
request. Maybe I'm just looking for confirmation of the obvious.
I'm looking to include the proxy auth username in custom error messages.
I found reference to a post back in 2001 regarding the same topic:

However, it was also noted that the patch supplied would be obsoleted by
the new authentication framework in 2.5, where another patch was also
mentioned.
The current tag list for custom error messages doesn't include a tag for
the username like the patch created.
Does a tag for this exist and is perhaps just not mentioned in the list?
If not, can this feature be added? Is there a reason why it's been left
out?
