In my parent squid (which is in both local and ext. network) it's also installed primary DNS service. I noted all PTR dns queries goes to this server; I shouldn' t have to see no dns request in my child squid. ----- Original Message ----- From: Matus UHLAR - fantomas To: squid-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, February 25, 2007 4:30 PM Subject: Re: dns PTR request to parent cache On 23.02.07 12:06, sampei02@xxxxxxxxxx wrote: > Hi Henrik, I am not Henrik. Can you indicate me what acls cause > dns PTR request to parent ? reverse lookups are used for sites that connect to you, not for sites you connect to. They are usually caused by src ACL that requires DNS to be resolved. And DNS lookups are not send to proxies, but to DNS servers. But why do you found this a problem? -- Matus UHLAR - fantomas, uhlar@xxxxxxxxxxx ; http://www.fantomas.sk/ Warning: I wish NOT to receive e-mail advertising to this address.
