Now Im having a problem I have tried to install Squid-2.6.Stable9 to both FC4 and FC6 with "start squid" on the /etc/rc.d/rc.local but it cannot start Squid on boot up. Try prefacing "squid start" with the path to the Squid binary. For example, "/usr/local/squid/sbin/squid start".
An other option would be to grab the Fedora Squid RPM and install it. It will include a startup script (found at /etc/init.d/squid).
