Oh that makes things much easier then. I still have little understanding of
how certain things works in squid simply because I still didn't even try to
install it.
Thanks very much for taking time in replying to my e-mail. It was very

Nope.. Digest authentication is integral in the HTTP protocol. Just
configure the proxy to require authentication, and the browser
automatically pops up a login dialog.

Forms based login is completely different, and does not apply that well
to proxies..

It's the browser, when Digest authentication is selected in HTTP.
