Hmm.. exacly where did you find this? This thought process completed some years ago, and the result is found in Squid-2.6 and later.. There is nothing special about authentication in accelerators any more. It's the same setup as in Internet proxies. The clean separation between proxy ports and accelerator ports allows Squid to act properly on all requests. Regards Henrik
