im pretty sure it the upstream (starband.net) caching and periodically breaking things. after 2 days of running off the proxy, i still see a lot of broken links off and on. too many errors right now to assume it's squid's fault! :( sorry for wasting time if thats the case, and thanks for everybody that answered. TCP_MISS/403 means that whatever Squid talked to returned 403. You can see what Squid connected to in the hierarchy column. Access denials by Squid reads TCP_DENIED/403. Regards Henrik
