If your kernel has been compiled to support 3gb user / 1gb kernel (and that works out for
you) than thats what PAE will give you. There's possibly restrictions involving buffering
and such; I've not ever owned a PAE machine with >4gb of RAM so i don't know what
the behaviour is. :P
