Signal 9 is SIGKILL, something forcibly killing the process with no
point of return..

I know for sure that Squid never sends SIGKILL to itself, so I would
suggest you check that system for any monitoring scripts maybe firing
off an killing what they think is "bad forgotten processes" in an
misguided attempt at making the server run better...

/etc/crontab

crontab of root

running processes

system monitoring framework if installed

logs of any of the above, if you know or find you have any..

When someone sends a SIGKILL you have no opportunity to report
anything.. Instant death with no chance for appeal is the result..
