Hey all, I have a quick question about what really happens when you purge an object from the cache. I've done a few tests loading a purging objects and I've found that if I load an object in cache, purge it, then load it again, the re-loaded object already has an 'age' set. eg. Load object. Purge object Re-Load #1: X-Cache: MISS from cache.host X-Cache-Lookup: MISS from cache.host:80 Re-Load #2: Age: 266 X-Cache: HIT from cache.host X-Cache-Lookup: HIT cache.host:80 Why is age already at 266 seconds? Is the object still indexed in some way even when it's been purged? I'm using squid 2.6 stable4, but I'm assuming this behaviour is pretty universal.
