Hi George, You can get RedHat also without paying that amount ! Just search the redhat website and you will find a link to download it ! The amount you pay, is for you to be able to download updates ! Of course you can do updates, but without paying it is a manual process where you havve to download each update manually and apply to the system, while paying the subscription, it is an automatic process where the RHN checks what is needed to be updated on your system and does it ! >From my experience, FreeBSD seems to be very stable and much faster in performance compared to RedHat ! If you are a newbee, then start with redhat, and later move to freebsd ! ./m ----- Original Message ----- From: George Levy [mailto:glevy@xxxxxxxxxxxx] To: squid-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tue, 10 Oct 2006 06:19:02 +0200 Subject: Re: Setting up to design a proxy server > Thank you Jose and Thomas for the info. > > George > > > Jose Nathaniel Nengasca wrote: > > >Hi, > > > >You can try the CentOS Linux (www.centos.org) or Lineox (www.lineox.org). > I > >have tried both of them and it works just what i wanted.
