If there is a problem using %>A in some network then define two log
formats, one for the networks where you can log FQDNs, the other where
you can only log IPs.

%>A	FQDN, or IP if not found
%>a	IP

But in most cases it's better to fix your DNS to properly return failure
on FQDN lookups of your networks where you don't provide FQDN details..

You can then select which requests to log by which format using the
access_log directive.
