The squid is not the version shipped with the system.
I installed it by my self.
But I do not to know how to do "created the relevant symlinks"
Could you tell me hou to do.

Is that squid the version that shipped with RHEL? If it is then your best
bet
is to contact them. If you've compiled it then I'd make sure you've put
the startup script from the squid source tools/ subdirectory into
/etc/init.d
and created the relevant symlinks.
