Thanks John

So can we say, (number of File descriptor in use - number of reserved
FD) = Total number of concurrent sessions in system?

Cordially,
Lokesh

Hello,

We get a (very) approximate number of concurrent connections by looking
at the number of file descriptors in use. We configure squid to use 8192
file descriptors, so for MRTG we specify:

  8192 - cacheCurrentUnusedFDescrCnt&cacheCurrentUnusedFDescrCnt
