Re: Squid crash root cause

The screen blanking issue could be related to hitting the SysReq key.

Out of curiosity, how do the following log files look:

/var/log/messages
cache.log (located in var/logs/ under the root of your squid directory. 
/etc/crontab
ls -la /etc/cron.weekly
