Logging To Database

Has anybody had any success with getting squid to log to a database, or 
has a script for importing squid log files into a database (mysql).

I've tried various options (squidparse, mysar) and found these to be too 
slow, following this I tried making a redirector program then soon 
realized the limitations of this :-)
