SSL acceleration question

Hi all

Squid 2.5 Stable 12

I am using the above version for a reverse proxy. It  redirects 
https://www.mydomain.com to http://www.mydomain.com:443.

Is there a patch available which  will make squid handle https to https? 
If so where can i get it. If not, is there another workaround?
