Thanks, Still no luck with the authentication via smb_auth. The auditing doesn't log any failure events. Also the Network monitor on the server captures about 5 packets when I try to do the authentication. None of these packets relate to SMB, they are all just NBT packets. Any other Ideas. > -----Original Message----- > From: Serassio Guido [mailto:guido.serassio@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: 08 December 2005 16:24 > To: Johan Pretorius > Cc: squid-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: RE: Problem with smb_auth and Windows > 2003 Server Domain > > Hi, > > Il 14.59 08/12/2005 Johan Pretorius ha scritto: > > >Thanks, I can now do an smbmount successfully, but the smbauth still > >get back with an ERR > > Please, always reply in CC to squid-users too, others users > could be interested. > > >/usr/lib/squid/smb_auth -W fashaf -U 172.30.2.31 -d jpretorius xxxx > >Domain name: xxxx Pass-through authentication: no Query address > >options: -U 172.30.2.31 -R Domain controller IP address: 172.30.2.31 > >Domain controller NETBIOS name: PDC Contents of > >//PDC/NETLOGON/proxyauth: > >ERR > > > >Even though I've checked the permissions a thousand times. > > > >Any ideas? > > Enable security auditing on the DC (if not enabled) and check > the security log after a failure, may be that the Logon > Locally User Rigth or similar user privilege is needed using smb_auth. > > Regards > > Guido > > > > - > ======================================================== > Guido Serassio > Acme Consulting S.r.l. - Microsoft Certified Partner > Via Lucia Savarino, 1 10098 - Rivoli (TO) - ITALY > Tel. : +39.011.9530135 Fax. : +39.011.9781115 > Email: guido.serassio@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > WWW: http://www.acmeconsulting.it/ >
