Nick, This is a known issue with RHEL 3 release of Squid. Check out https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=165367 Then go to http://people.redhat.com/stransky/squid/ and try out Release candidate for RHEL3-U7 squid-2.5.STABLE3-6.3E.14.RC1 Hopefully this wil fix the problem.
