you really should upgrade it first.

I'd increase this a bit, maybe to 64 or 128KB

you can use 'aufs' which should be faster. linux support this.

if you don't need this, turn that off.

try turning this to off. if that doesn't help, you can turn it back to on
(read description of this directive in config file for explanation)
