Hello,
Ok here is all the info:
Solaris 8 Generic_108528-13 64-bit, on entreprise 250, UltraSPARC-II
400MHz with 512Mb of ram
gcc is 2.95.3 20010315
Sometime gcc 2.95 on Solaris is know for code generation problems.
If possibile, could be interesting try with a more updated gcc, you
can find 3.3.2 and 3.4.2 Solaris 8 Sparc packages on
http://www.sunfreeware.com/indexsparc8.html
In a general way, you can try to find where Squid is crashing running
squid under GDB control, see
http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/FAQ/FAQ-11.html#ss11.19 for more details.
and herer is the config.log
(See attached file: config.log)
I like to see the output of configure command, not config.log.
Looking onto your configure options:
./configure --enable-snmp --with-openssl=/opt/ssl\
--enable-auth="basic ntlm" --enable-err-languages="English" \
--enable-basic-auth-helpers="MSNT multi-domain-NTLM winbind PAM" \
--enable-ntlm-auth-helpers="winbind fakeauth" --enable-storeio=diskd,ufs \
--enable-external-acl-helpers="wbinfo_group" --enable-ntlm-fail-open \
--enable-ntlm-authentication
--enable-snmp --enable-removal-policies="lru heap"
Do You use squid as a reverse proxy ?
If no, openssl should be not needed in your configuration, see
http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/FAQ/FAQ-1.html#ss1.12 for more details.
Please, do you can try to configure Squid without OpenSSL, snmp and
diskd, and see what happens ?
Regards
Guido
