Thanks I know 5 is low value and it was just giving an example. But does it make sense to control DOS attack using this. I noticed in past one of my user was having Trojan in PC which start sending lot of traffic on port 80. Which consume all the resources on squid server and other users were not able to browse for some time. Will it be useful here? -----Original Message----- From: Kashif Ali Bukhari [mailto:kbukhari@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Saturday, August 13, 2005 10:04 AM To: Lokesh Khanna Cc: squid-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: max connections On 8/12/05, lokesh.khanna@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <quid from > 192.168.1.0 subnet. > Or does it mean each IP address from 192.168.1.0 subnet will get 5 max Yes It will allow 5 conntions on each ip of ur sub net but 5 is very low conactions limitation > concurrent connections. > > Is it a useful parameter to save squid from DOS attack on sqid port. > -- Syed Kashif Ali Bukhari Network Associate Asia Net Cell :- +92-345-4244813 , +92-300-4295604 Ph +92-42-111-111-202 Fax +92-42-5840905 MSN:- kbukhari@xxxxxxx ; kashif.bukhari@xxxxxxxxxxx http://asia.net.pk , http://asiatec.biz Disclaimer **************************************************************************************************************************** The information contained in this e-mail, any attached files, and response threads are confidential and may be legally privileged.
