OS: Debian Woody Linux janon.univ-st-etienne.fr 2.4.26-1-686-smp #1 SMP Fri Aug 20 19:39:10 CEST 2004 i686 unknown RAM 4 GB - bi-Xeon 2,8 GHz Cache disks: 6 x 36 GB SCSI Ultra 320 15k RPM (2 separate SCSI controllers, RAID 0) squid was installed with: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/squid-2.5.STABLE9-20050321 --enable-dlmalloc --enable-gnuregex --enable-storeio=diskd,ufs,aufs,null --disable-hostname-checks --enable-underscores --enable-basic-auth-helpers=LDAP I'm using aufs storage scheme: cache_dir aufs /cache1 20000 16 256 cache_dir aufs /cache2 20000 16 256 cache_dir aufs /cache3 20000 16 256 cache_dir aufs /cache4 20000 16 256 cache_dir aufs /cache5 20000 16 256 cache_dir aufs /cache6 20000 16 256 I thought I had many file descriptors because /etc/init.d starts squid with "ulimit -HSn 8192", and cachemrg.cgi reports: File descriptor usage for squid: Maximum number of file descriptors: 8192 Largest file desc currently in use: 452 Number of file desc currently in use: 375 Files queued for open: 0 Available number of file descriptors: 7817 Reserved number of file descriptors: 100 Store Disk files open: 1 Thanks for your help. -- ______________________________________________________________ A: Yes.
