what you gurus says squid is capable to handle that number of req/m ?
That's about 50 reqs/sec. My old Compaq ML370 now serves 60 reqs/sec with cpu to spare.
On modern P4 based 'light server hardware' that kind of load is not even good enough to warm the fans... :-).
