*** Authentication Certificate *** sorry. doc wasn't obvious enough. I guess squid -z is intended to exit! than the init script runs "squid -D" nevermind. Thanks for a great app! Kyle *** Authentication Certificate *** I just upgraded from squid-2.4.STABLE6 to squid-2.5.STABLE7 on RH6.2. (yes, egcs-2.91.66) I started with the Fedora Core 3 rpm, so of course I had to remove the compile options "-fPIE -Os -g -pipe -fsigned-char" When I start squid with "squid -z -F -D" (the default in /etc/rc.d/init.d/squid), I see it creating or verifying the swap directories and then, after a fork , immediately exits. I can start and run "squid -F -D" with no problem. Kyle
