Sorry for late response, this mail thread started exactly before my vacation.
From the last release (0.18) qxl-wddm-dod includes several minor fixes and one fix that may solve https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/spice-devel/2018-June/044237.html
At the same time (if I'm not mistaken) latest spice-server (14.1) includes change (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/spice/spice/commit/ca4984570f425e87e92abe5f62f9687bb55c1e14) that solves the same problem on spice-server side, so the fix in qxl-wddm-dod makes things better only when it works with older spice-server on the host.
Please let me know if I'm mistaken -> this will increase the motivation to issue next release of qxl-wddm-dod.
