Personally, I'd prefer if the CI integration files were not stored in the main repository, I don't know what is typically done in this area though. It's a single hidden file, so no strong opposition either. I'd add emails to some mailing list when the build fails, apart from this, this looks good to me. (I assume builds work properly with this file and your proposed changes).
