I guess you are looking for something like
http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kde-workspace/klipper/clipboard-modes.html
wikipedia also mentions parcellite and glipper, but I don't know if they
can do what you are after.
xsel also lets you add data to whatever clipboard you want, but this would
be a manual process.
