Heh! ran straight into this (fedora) bug:

  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=990528

Easily worked around though. Generated the MSI and installed fine on windows

Missing two dlls:

/usr/i686-w64-mingw32/sys-root/mingw/bin/libdbus-glib-1-2.dll
/usr/i686-w64-mingw32/sys-root/mingw/bin/libdbus-1-3.dll

Once I copied them across remote-viewer worked well. I think the Cursor was
displaying correctly on dark backgrounds but I was remoted onto a remote
session to do it :) so nothing looked quite right anyway. Will test properly
when I get into tomorrow.

And thanks, very much appreciate all the help. Will make my boss happy - had
migrated all his dev VM's from VMWare to KVM (proxmox) and working well, only
to discover he likes a navy blue background in his editor ...

Once I get the process smoothed out I can write it up for the spice-space wiki
if you like.
