Dear spice developers. I'm trying to setup a thin client running a light linux distribution called Porteus (based on slackware) which must be used to connect to remote virtual machines managed by ovirt using spice. I compiled from source the needed spice packages, namely: spice-0.12.3 spice-gtk-0.20 spice-xpi-2.8-3 virt-viewer-0.5.6 usbredir-0.6 and others needed for dependencies, like: celt051-0.5.1.3 gstreamer-0.10.36 libjpeg-turbo-1.2.1 vala-0.20.1 etc.. The problem is that I'm facing strong performances issues, in particular when I connect using firefox+spice-xpi plugin or remote-viewer. The video stream is very intermittent and the audio is not present at all. Looking at the debug output I see a lot of messages like: (remote-viewer:2419): GSpice-DEBUG: channel-display.c:1459 display-2:0: stream data too late by 6 ms (ts: 35717802, mmtime: 35717808), dropin (remote-viewer:2419): GSpice-DEBUG: channel-display.c:1459 display-2:0: stream data too late by 10 ms (ts: 35717877, mmtime: 35717887), dropin (remote-viewer:2419): GSpice-DEBUG: channel-display.c:1459 display-2:0: stream data too late by 16 ms (ts: 35717912, mmtime: 35717928), dropin (remote-viewer:2419): GSpice-DEBUG: channel-display.c:1459 display-2:0: stream data too late by 9 ms (ts: 35717999, mmtime: 35718008), dropin (remote-viewer:2419): GSpice-DEBUG: channel-display.c:1459 display-2:0: stream data too late by 14 ms (ts: 35718034, mmtime: 35718048), dropin and the video hangs. Using spicec the performances are slightly better (the video doesn't stop) and I'm able to get the audio. Can you give me some suggestions on how to solve this issue? I need to use remote-viewer through the firefox plugin, since I must connect to Ovirt-managed virtual machines, and I also need the usb-redirection. Thank you very much. Best Regards R.
