There is pretty good public transport in Brno in terms of frequencies (anything over 10 minutes is infrequent) and coverage so if you prefer not to walk, you can get yourself longer-term ticket (http://www.idsjmk.cz/cenik/CenikEN.pdf , "Transferable season tickets") on the train station or at DPMB booth close to RH office. In addition, real-time vehicle position data is fed to Google Transit so you can find your way from anywhere to anywhere even without knowledge of the network.
