You did not specify the version of qemu that you are using.
Seems like you need to update your qemu.
Hi, my qemu version is QEMU emulator version 0.13.0 (qemu-kvm-0.13.0). And
my host is Fedora 14 64bits.
Try using a newer qemu !
Indeed it seems that there is no "-spice" option in version 0.13.0
