Hans,

There is no output. It simply just exits.
Is there any way to get the log of Qemu? I tried to find the log in
/var/log/libvirt/qemu but found nothing there.

Are there any major changes in Qemu that fail to run the following Qemu command options? Please give me some suggestions or hints why the following script fails to launch a VM. Thanks.

Nothing obvious here why this would not work, it would help if you can include the output of qemu when it fails.
