Wim, do you think Oracle can put these critical manuals back up somewhere
permanently?

The fact that developers have to go to the web archive to get what was
a perfectly working public copy is a bit rediculous. :-)

Given that it's coming up to Christmas which is the season of goodwill and miracles, I might as well also ask if there's any chance of resurrecting the old playground.sun.com server and/or copies of the documentation that used to be hosted there?

The information was, and in many ways still is, extremely useful for people like me working on virtualising old Sun SPARC hardware.

Hi Mark, I'm one of Wim's gang; we're putting together the docs now, and we'll take a look at what we had up on playground at the time of its demise.  Once the docs are rehosted, we'll send a pointer out, take a look and if there is anything missing that you think would be valuable, just let us know.  Merry Christmas ;-)

Hi John,

Thank you so much, this is absolutely brilliant news!

Are you now the designated contact for documentation requests? Besides what was on playground.sun.com there are other things that would be really helpful, e.g. in the QEMU sources there are references to the sun4u APB/PCI specifications which would be helpful, but I don't think were previously ever released outside of NDA?

Many thanks,

Mark.
