It cures the known-bad config with stack overflow detection turned on. Instead of the hang, it now displays Calibrating delay using timer specific routine.. 801.66 BogoMIPS (lpj=4008300) Mount-cache hash table entries: 512 CPU 7: synchronized TICK with master CPU (last diff -2 cycles, maxerr 685 cycles) Brought up 2 CPUs And continues with other things and boots fine to SMP multiuser.
