It should be, but it isn't. It's not an easy decision to make
when you know that, by being finickity and perfectionist
you can mess up other people's existing work and that they,
of whoever is using what they did may never notice... except
that something doesn't work for inecplicable reasons any more.
And SoX is so old that it has been used a *lot*, also in serious
situations, not only for for tinkering and experimemtation.

The only sidecases are when, like echos and chorus,
they have obviously never worked at all, or when making
a major release in which you are allowed to break things,
but even then it's a close call, forcing people to keep
several versions of it lying around and know which one
to use when.
