Dear all, sorry, I am too dumb for digital filters! The Linkwitz-Riley 4th order filter is not a 4th order butterworth filter, but a cascade of two second order butterworth filters. Hence I must not take the coefficients of a 4th order butterworth, but convolve the 2nd order coefficients instead. This is correctly done in sox. Sorry about the false alarm.
