The book “SELinux by Example” written by many of the people on this mailing list (ISBN 0-13-196369-4).  It’s a bit old at this point, especially since SELinux changes pretty quickly, but it’s probably the best way to start.

Google brings up a lot to read as well.  Here’s one: http://www.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6-Beta/html/Security-Enhanced_Linux/index.html

Subject: New to SELinux: how to get familiar

Hi Everyone,

I have just started playing around with SELinux. I don't know much about its functionality... I was wondering if anyone could suggest me on what is the best way for a beginner to start getting to know how SELinux function... other than installing it on a Linux box.

Thank you for your suggestions...

David.
