ANN: Flexible Mandatory Access Control (FMAC) for Solaris

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,

I'm pleased to announce that a project to add the Flask architecture for
flexible mandatory access control to OpenSolaris has been submitted to
and approved by the OpenSolaris security community. This represents
another milestone in bringing flexible MAC to mainstream operating
systems and will broaden the set of platforms that support this
technology. The project is a joint initiative of the NSA and Sun
Microsystems.

The original project proposal and feedback can be found on the
opensolaris-security-discuss mailing list, at:
http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=52141&tstart=0

The project now has a page and separate discussion list set up, which can be found at:
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/fmac/
http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/fmac-discuss

If you are interested in participating, please join the fmac-discuss list.
Contributions of both code and review time are welcome; there is a lot of work
to be done.
