Available Now: Cybersecurity Framework Webinars
On Wednesday, March 1, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) held a series of webinars providing an overview of the Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity (Framework) and proposed Framework 1.1 updates. Recordings of the webinar are available now – please see below for descriptions of the two sessions and links to the recordings.
Webinar 1: Cybersecurity Framework Overview
This webinar introduced participants to the Framework. NIST described the history of the Framework, the three primary Framework components (Core, Implementation Tiers, and Profiles), and plans for strengthening the Framework. NIST also provided information on other cybersecurity resources and held a Q&A session with participants.

Webinar 2: Cybersecurity Framework Update
This webinar provided participants with an opportunity to further explore proposed updates to the Framework. In January, NIST released Framework draft version 1.1, which seeks to clarify, refine, and enhance the Framework. NIST provided an understanding of what is proposed in the version 1.1 draft, described the process for finalizing the proposed updates, and held a Q&A session with participants.

On February 27, Government Matters TV interviewed Matt Barrett, Framework Program Manager at NIST, who discussed Framework draft version 1.1 and the next steps in the Framework update process. Watch the video to learn more about these proposed updates.
Organizations of all types and sizes are encouraged to read the Framework update and provide feedback to NIST at cyberframework@xxxxxxxx. The 90 day public comment period closes April 10, 2017.
