While it is true that iptables is there =>
[root@c1074527-a src]# which iptables
/sbin/iptables

I have no idea why this is there if it never
had a 2.4.x kenel. iptables just does not work
on a 2.2.x kernel.

Is a Red Hat Linux release 7.0 (Guinness),
we need to upgrade that kernel.
[root@c1074527-a /root]# uname -a
Linux c1074527-a 2.2.16-22 #1 Tue Aug 22 16:49:06 EDT 2000 i686 unknown

http://www.redhat.com/support/errata/RHSA-2001-130.html
does not offer a 2.4 kernel on their site, that sucks.
I am not sure that the kernels rpm for 7.2 will not break
anything there.

I need to download a kernel from kernel.org
we should be using kernel 2.4.18 This is the
safest and more efficient way to go.

The more i look, the more work i see.
You will not be able to port forward to that
server on until this is fixed.

Also, was this computer a dual boot?
This is from /etc/lilo.conf

other=/dev/hdb1
