RE: buffer overrun, overflow, overwrite

They mean the same thing, whether its called overflowing, smashing the stack, or whatever...

overrun --> meaning data being copied past the end of a char array.
overwrite --> writing data past the char array onto other parts of the stack..
overflow --> spilling out onto other parts of the stack..
